WHY DID YOU GIVE YOUR BAND'S NAME AS "VILE"? IS THER SOME MEANING BEHIND THIS NAME?

No real meaning. It was just the only name we could all agree on!

WHERE DO YOU GET INFLUENCE AND INSPIRATION FROM? AND WHAT DO YOU LISTEN MOSTLY EVERYDAY?

I listen to all kinds of music. I am a recording and mastering engineer so I need to keep up with all styles.

Everything I listen to inspires me in some way.

HOW COULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC? WHAT IS YOUR LYRIC ABOUT?

The music is technical brutal death metal with groove. The lyrics are fantasy based on real historical events. Mostly about the various evils of man.

WE KNOW THAT ALL OF YOU ARE MUSIC MANIAC, AND WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDES MUSIC? ANY HOBBY? WHAT DO YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT IN THIS WORLD?

Of course music is my life. Im always listening to music, recording or mastering music or whatever. Always music. But I

Also explore photography and do a lot of reading.

MIKE HAMILTON HAS GONE TO DEEDS OF FLESH, AND WHAT REALLY HAPPENS BETWEEN HIM AND OTHER MEMBERS OF VILE?

Mike needed a change in his life. He needed to do something different. Its too bad that he left when he did though.

COULD YOU INTRODUCE THE NEW LINE-UP TO US? IS THE NEW DRUMER WONDERFUL AS THE PREVIOUS ONE?

The line up is the same except Tyson the drummer. Tyson is the best drummer I have played with. His is very inspiring to work with.

We also just did a European tour with Reno kiilerich from Exmortem and Panzerchrist from Denmark.

Tyson was in school and Reno helped us out. He is also a killer drummer.

DO YOU HAVE SOME FUTURE PLAN? ESPECIALLY AFTER THE NEW ALBUM?

We just take it one step at a time. Right now Im working on new material.

WE NOTICE THAT YOUT FIRST ALBUMS HAS NO LABEL MARK ON IT, SO IS IT A SELF-RELEASED ALBUM? NOW WHERE COULD WE BUY THIS ONE FROM?

Yes it was self released. Now it has been re released by Listenable records. Its available through them or other distributors as well.

ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH THE NEW LABEL? IS THERE ANY CHANGE NOW?

Oh yeah. We love Listenable. They do an awesome job. No complaints there.

COLIN, YOU ARE A PERFECT GUITAR PLAYER, SO HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE THAT LEVEL? HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU PRACTISE EVERY DAY? IS THERE ANY SECRET? WHO INSPIRE YOU TO BECOME A GUITAR PLAYER?

I am not a perfect guitar player. Im still practicing just like everybody else. As the music gets harder and faster, I have to keep playing more and more.

All I can say is practice everyday and look at other player's techniques.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE GUITAR PLAYERS AND WHY?

There are so many! For death metal its Erik Rutan. He has amazing technique and drive. Yngwie is my favorie solo player.

NOW VILE HAS BEEN FAMOUS THAN EVER, SO WHAT IS YOUR TOUR PLAN? WHICH BAND DO YOU WANT TO SHARE A GIG WITH? AND WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LIVE BAND ON STAGE?

We would love to tour with Hate eternal or Morbid Angel. My favorite live bands are Hate Eternal, Morbid, Inhume, and Origin.

AS FOR DEATH METAL MUSIC, BAND AND MUSICIAN CAN'T LIVE ON THAT AND GAIN A LOT OF MONEY. SO IN WHICH WAY DO YOU MAKE LIVING? IS THAT DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO PLAY DEATH METAL MUSIC WIHOUT MANY PAY-BACK?

Yes its very hard to keep paying money for this music and never getting paid back. I have no other choice though.

NOW THERE IS A SMALL BUT STEADY DEATH METAL SCENE HERE IN CHINA, BUT SUCH THING HAS BEEN IN VERY BEGINNING SO COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOHT THE SITUATION IN YOUR LOCAL CITY?

Here in San Francisco we have a lot of music but only a small amount of death metal. We really hope that the situation gets better in China for you. There are so many

people there and there could be a huge scene someday.

ARE YOU RECORDS-COLLECTORS? AND WHAT AMOUNT OF RECORDS HAVE YOU COLLECTED BY NOW?

I have mostly CDs. About 600 of them. All kinds of music.

WHAT IS YOUR FAOURITE BANDS AND ALBUMS? AND WHY DO YOU LIKE THEM?

Morbid Angel Blessed are the Sick, Classic very influential, Iron Maiden Piece of Mind, One of the best heavy metal albums of all time.

Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance, got me into metal.
