1. The speed is the great symbol of your music, the ultra speed shows you guys are really chipper and invigorating, so how and why did you form the band?

ABH: I and my bloodbrother Fernando had formed the band when we´ve learned enough about musical skills to start our warpath... Since the beginning we have the purpose to start a Death Metal band, a band where we can bring the fury of revenge in music form, bringing brutality and extremity to the sound, and so conquering a high speed level. When we´ve started the ABHORRENCE in 97 we had in mind to do create a Death Metal band with the only compromisse to be a true metal band, real bringers of evil war and mayhem.

2. In China now, Abhorence has been among the three best Brazilian death metal bands (the other two are Krisiun and Reballiun). there must be some similarity among these three bands, at least the ultra speed. do you think it is a coincidence or all of Brazilian metal warriors favor the speed especially?

ABH: Beside these bands in Brazil have many bands also playing fast as Ophiolatry, Mental Horror, Funeratus, Ancestral Malediction,... so it´s not a coincidence ABHORRENCE playing fast as well, be sure that this is the true death metal way here. We play fast coz we like speed extreme metal, plus the scene here that always have extreme acts such Krisiun and early Sarcófago directly influencing us for that.

3. How do you stand for the "speed" in your music?

ABH: It´s something natural for us. Anyway I think the band need to keep the true brutal metal pumping in the heart and evil spirit hunger for revenge. Beside all these shit it´s naturally need to have atitude, dedication to develop skills, concentration and feeling while develop the band sound.

4. I think Slayer has a great influence on your music, is it right? and could you tell me what is your music influence?
ABH: Yeah, older Slayer is one of the main influences in the ABHORRENCE music. We´ve growing listen albuns like Hell´s Awaits and Reign in Blood, also bands like Dark Angel, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Venom, Motorhead, Terrorizer,... These bands are some of the wellspring of the velocity and unyielding tune in the band. Personally my music influence comes from the extremism of metal musicians like Trey Azagthoth, Kerry King, and nowdays Moyses Kolesne. Also I got some influence from Paganini´s classical stuff.

5. How do you think of some old Brazilian band such as SEPULTURA, SARCOFAGO adn so on? what do you inherit from these bands or do you want to set some new examples?
ABH: I´ve enjoyed every band in the past. I think every act had good and bad times, great and poor attitudes. So this stuff is what we inherit from these bands here. But somehow we´ve followed our own way, be sure we are very different of these bands.

6. There are a lot of profane words in your lyric, and do you think it will be the top idea of your music? and what is your ideology behind your music?
ABH: I can said you that our ideology somehow surround everything that envolve the band, so the lyrics are about the apocalyptic revenge, destruction of the human fallacy and the downfall of holy false idols... We are free to fight for what we like and belive, we don´t follow any holy rules or any other shit beside our own will. So always you will find aggression in our lyrics as well. If ABHORRENCE dies or finish the activities, will do playing this type of extreme Death Metal!!!

7. Have you ever practise some profane actions in your daily life?
ABH: We live near some churches here, and we always face some fight with these pigs... Well we are free peoples, not blinded lunatics. We are Death Metal musicians this is all.

8. How do you carry your music creating work? where is your inspiration from?
ABH: Our musical inspiration comes from many true metal bands that we listen everyday and along the time. About the creating work, not there much complicated. In the rehearse we plus the ideas for, doing guitar riffs and drums eruptions creating a skull for the tracks... with the time we will improving the songs untill it´s sounding good.

9. Say something about your evil live shows? do you think your music is popular among the scene? and could you expect a quantity number of your music fans all over the world?
ABH: Well last times we have not done many shows, just a couple of them around here... I can said you we´ve received a good response for whole savagery upon the stages. I know our music is not popular in the scene, we are an very underground act yet, we´ve just released one album, so we need to show more. Really we not have idea how many are the ABHORRENCE number of fans around the world, but we´re sure there´s a legion of demons supporting us in this warfare.
10. What is the political environment of Brazil? do you meet some trouble when you play extreme metal music within some extreme thoughts and ideas?
ABH: Here we have a lot of shit crossing the way of Brazil´s development, but a thing we´ve not found here are the political pressure. Here you do what want within the limits for sure, the peoples have some liberty in this sense. So we´ve not meet great problems in this sense for play extreme metal music.

11. Have you ever endured some pressure from the society and your family when you choose to express yourself through death metal music?
ABH: While teen naturally we´ve crossed a ton of pressure from all sides, but thru many years now lived with persistence and attitude we´ve gained the support of everyone who live in our side. Our family are the strongest ones in this sense. About society it´s just keep leading the rats.

12. How do you make living? are you professional musicians or do you have normal jobs? are you active ones in Brazilian underground metal scene? what do your friends look like? and which bands do you want to share a gig with?
ABH: We have normal lives, sadly we are not professional musicians... Everyone in the band have to take the own job to survive here. With all shit like that we are not able to be so active in relation of shows etc... But always we ´ve get time to be ready to face any stage.

13. The drumer of your band is unbelievable excellent. here we call him a firing machine gun. how do you practise everyday? could you give some advice to some young drumer here in China?
ABH: Thanx! Yeah, also we call him machine gun, mainly due the snare who blast fast and tight like hell. Well how I´m answering this interview and he´s my brother, I can say to the young drumers that Fernando practise well the dynamics and stick skills, conditioning himself to keep playing fast the entire tracks beside to training the feets and arms to play like that. How musician I am as well, I can said you that you need concentrate your mind in the exercises, it´s not just waste time but you really have to close for that. Everything demand a great patience and dedication, so you must resist all!

14. Say something about your previous demos and albums, how do you achieve the progress of your music?
ABH: We have two demos released before the debut album Evoking. The first one " Ascension" we were totally raw, this time was good, the demo had put us well in the underground scene anyway the music were just simple way of brutal Death Metal. The follow one "Triumph In Blasphemy" this was a fierce and savage issue recorded in the band´s bad times... anyway there ABHORRENCE had level up the composition works. This demo was the cause of the band sign up for the full lenght album later. So about the progress of our music, it´s happen with naturality for us. But if you´ll check in, you´ll note we had enchanced our style improving the trial of true speed brutal metal.

15. What is your future plan? when could we expect your new album?
ABH: We have plans to release the second album in 2003... and you will could expect a release brutaller, enraged, faster than ever. Also we have plans to make some tour... Evoking bring us some opportunities but somehow the shit never is happening. So we hope transcend boundaries with the new stuff.

16. Do you want to continue work with Listenable Rec.?
ABH: Probably we´ll keep working with Listenable and Evil Vengeance as well. Both Labels has promoted the band enough around the globe, so we hope they are satisfied with the results too.

17. About the new songs, is there any change or progress compared with the previous ones?
ABH: Changes not, progress naturally. We have new songs. It´s sounding really crusher transcending the tracks fro Evoking album. As we´ve talked before, the songs will keep improving in the sense of speed, brutality and savagery. Be sure there´s not place for shit, just extreme War Death brutalism.
18. What do you think of nowadays brutal death metal scene? it seems that Brutal death metal is flourish and tons of new bands come into ground. so do you think this situation will last for a long period?
ABH: Well I remember a time were the scene were very stricted only for those who had total devotion for Metal,... nowdays really I´ve seen ton of bands appear, anyway few are those who really carry the truw metal force of hell... But the underground still lies under, as always. You know, we are here, two fucking bastards supporting each other.
19. Here in China, there have been a lot of Abhorence fans, so what is your impression of China? what do you want to say to your Chinese fans?
ABH: ABH: It´s an immense satisfaction hear about the maniaks around there. We just hope to conquer a possibility to bang the stages around there someday and show to the minions of death our real fury for all support.
20. Could we expect a gig of Abhorence here in China? could you use one word to describe your live show?
ABH: Evilness can be the word. About the gig in China, well, this happening just will depend of ABHORRENCE. So be sure we´ll work hard to conquer an opportunity such this.
21. All in all thanx for this interview, what do you want to say finally?
ABH: Thanx Yang for supporting ABHORRENCE and hails to the true ostentation from Painkiller Mag for whole metal scene. Keep doing great friend! I wish you can get a great response with your honest work! To the wardemons readers I would like to say to keep beliving and supporting the underground scene. Listen to the "Evoking the Abomination" album and keep banging their heads till Death!!!
